Today Year 3 went to Clifton Country Park. Their took their Q1 computers with them and have started making a presentation all about the country park. It did rain a little bit but fortunately we were able to shelter in the woods!
Mrs Shepherd accompanied four children from Year 5 to a Science Festival Day at Bolton School. They had to use forensic science techniques to solve a murder. They also had loads of fun mixing chemicals in the lab. Do not try this at home!!
Year Two throughly enjoyed their trip to Chester Zoo. They had never seen so many elephants and they were fasinated by the comodo dragons.
During Spanish arts week the Year 3 class studied a painting by the Spanish artist, Salvador Dali. The painting showed some imaginary animals that were like elephants with legs like a giraffe. The children used this idea to create their own imaginary animals with long lets like a giraffe. The picture above shows the ‘sunset’ background to the picture.
Year One and Two worked collaboratively to produce some fantastic artwork. One group used Gaudi’s style to create some animal mosaics. The other group recreated the Festival of flowers using tissue paper.
During spanish arts week Year 4 have been looking at sculptures by the spanish artist ‘Chillida’ The children chose their favourite Chillida sculptures and used these to design their own sculptures to improve the school environment.
