At the end of African Arts Week we had an assembly to showcase some of the work we had been doing. Here are a few images from the assembly.
Today all the children got a chance to play the African drums. Although the drums looked very similar they had different names. Can you remember any of the names? When you hit the centre of the drum you get a low sound and when you hit the outside of the drum you get a high sound. We all played lots of exciting rhythms.
Today we all got to listen to Tony Wilson who is a story teller. In Y3 and Y4 he told us a traditional African story about Anansi the spider. During the story we joined in by doing lots of actions. Tony also played his guitar and banjo as well as making up a story based on some objects we had put in a bag.

The Nursery and reception children heard a story about an African boy called Ashanoti.
